Aangan Drama - Complete Episode Guide, Cast, Story & Latest Updates
Aangan is a Pakistani period drama adapted from Khadija Mastoor's acclaimed 1962 Urdu novel. Set against the political upheaval leading to the Partition of the Indian subcontinent, the story unfolds within the courtyard of an ancestral home where family relationships, personal ambitions, and ideological differences shape the lives of those living under one roof. Narrated through the perspective of Aaliya, played by Mawra Hocane, the drama explores the experiences of women navigating love, loss, education, and independence in a restrictive society. As the Pakistan Movement gathers momentum outside their home, the family's internal divisions and changing loyalties create their own emotional struggles. Aaliya's journey brings together unrequited love, personal sacrifice, and the desire to determine her own future, while the lives of Chammi, played by Sajal Aly, and Jamil, played by Ahad Raza Mir, add further layers to the family's complicated relationships. Written for television by Mustafa Afridi and directed by Mohammed Ehteshamuddin, Aangan combines an intimate family story with the historical realities of a society on the brink of profound change.
